The second annual “Homegrown Hoedown” Barn Dance is scheduled for Saturday, September 15th. This casual event will take place in the barn at Kelley Creek Farm in Huntsville. Festivities kick off at 6:30 PM. Find Us on Facebook.

The event is all about local and homegrown. Guests will get to kick up their heels to local favorite Shades of Grey, while dining on a locally grown menu consisting of local raised beef and produce prepared by Harley & Buck’s and Huntsville Barbecue Company.  A silent auction featuring harvest baskets, wine baskets and local business items will accompany the event.

Proceeds from the event will benefit The Ogden Valley Business Association’s mission of supporting local businesses, with a portion benefiting the Freedom Riders Therapeutic Horse Riding Program.

Individual tickets are $25. Lisa can also take credit cards, cash or checks at the event, although space is limited.

The Ogden Valley Business Association is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the Ogden Valley community and businesses. Its purpose is to enhance the quality of life for citizens of Ogden Valley and Ogden Canyon through the promotion and development of community and economic resources including arts, culture, education, health and human services, tourism, and community service.

Freedom Riders. Established 35 years ago by valley resident Steve Spencer, Freedom Riders is a non-profit organization, and an equestrian program specifically designed for physically disabled children. Freedom Riders uses well trained horses and specialized equipment to provide balance, coordination, endurance, and improve ambulatory skills to children with cerebral palsy and other physical challenges. These children, with the help of many dedicated volunteers, meet each week during the summer months to learn horsemanship skills as well as stretching exercises and games on horseback.
